2025 Margaret Linder Southern Endowment grants announced

Community Foundation of Greenville is excited to announce the recipients of its 2025 Margaret Linder Southern Endowment grants. A total of $300,000 was awarded this year to six local nonprofits.

The Community Foundation carries out Ms. Southern’s wishes by making annual distributions from her endowment fund to benefit the Greenville Humane Society (50%) and organizations that benefit or provide services for early childhood education and special education for children and youth (50%). Click here to learn more about the Margaret Linder Southern Endowment Fund.

Congratulations to the following organizations!

 

A Child’s Haven – $50,000 – A Child’s Haven provides healing therapy for Greater Greenville’s developmentally challenged at-risk preschoolers while fortifying vulnerable families and strengthening our community. This funding will help support therapy for children and families.

Front Porch Housing – $25,000 – Front Porch Housing is a three-year supportive housing program that pairs dignified housing with intensive wrap-around services to help individuals and families build a strong foundation for life. This grant will support the setup of its new child development center.

Greenville Humane Society – $150,000 – Greenville Humane Society works to preserve the lives and enhance the well-being of all animals. This is an unrestricted grant given each year as directed by Ms. Southern.

Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC)– $20,000 – MAC provides support to area arts organizations, individual artists, and arts education programs through grants and various artist programs. This grant will support its SmartARTS Education Program in Greenville County Schools.

PMAC (Poe Mill Achievement Center) – $25,000 – PMAC is an after-school and summer enrichment program for under-resourced children in Greenville. The program empowers the students they serve, building their confidence and resilience as they emerge into the world as teens and young adults. Funding will support PMAC’s after-school and summer programs in 2026.

SHARE (Sunbelt Human Advancement Resources, Inc.) – $30,000 – SHARE helps people and communities exit poverty and achieve economic stability. This grant funding will be used to support positive guidance towards self-regulation and resilience.
