Ryan Thackray

Director of Development

Originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Ryan moved to Greenville in 2009 and joined the Community Foundation of Greenville team in the summer of 2025. With a passion for philanthropy, Ryan works closely with individuals and families to help them achieve their charitable goals and create meaningful, lasting impact. He is dedicated to growing unrestricted giving to ensure the Foundation can remain flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of our community.

Ryan is a graduate of Presbyterian College and studied abroad at the National University of Ireland. His professional background includes development roles at Presbyterian College, The Family Effect, The Meyer Center for Special Children, The Peace Center, and The Nature Conservancy. Ryan is a member of the Rotary Club of Greenville, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and has earned his Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credentials. He lives in Greenville with his wife, two young children, a cat, Sugar, and dog, Tater Bob.
