Bridging Philanthropy & Purpose

The Community Foundation of Greenville enhances the quality of life in Greenville County by linking philanthropic leadership, charitable resources and civic involvement with needs and opportunities in the community.

Roles

The Foundation carries forward its mission as a:

• Grant Maker – providing direct financial resources to targeted programs
• Catalyst – encouraging collaboration among groups in solving community problems
• Steward – managing and distributing unrestricted, field-of-interest, and donor-advised funds
• Resource Developer – seeking current, planned giving, and donor-advised funds

Values

We value our community.  We are committed to being actively involved in identifying and addressing community needs through grants and serving as a catalyst to solve community problems.  We will be known for our integrity and objectivity.

We value philanthropic knowledge.  We believe we can serve our community if we continuously provide sound financial management and tax-advantaged services for philanthropic individuals, families, and companies.

We value volunteers.  We will remain on the cutting edge in the process of making and evaluating grants to organizations serving our community through the recruitment, training and deployment of compassionate and dedicated volunteers.

We value communications.  We will be innovative and creative in searching for ways to make our services and community needs known to a wide range of constituents so that we can grow to have the greatest impact.
