How to Establish a Fund

It's easy to establish your own named charitable fund and it can be done in less than a day with these simple steps.  We're happy to work with you and also with your financial advisor to accomplish your charitable goals.

• Determine your charitable purpose or intent
• Select the type of charitable fund that best supports your purpose.  We'll explain your options and the advantages of each.
• Complete a simple governing document that will clearly reflection your intentions.  For some funds, you will designate current fund advisors such as yourself and spouse and successor advisors which may be your children or other family members.
• Select a name for your fund. You can use a family name or a name that allows you to remain anonymous.
• Make a gift to establish the fund. See Ways to Give for the types of contributions you can make.
• Receive a tax deduction at the time the fund is established and when additional contributions are made to the fund.

 Once your fund is established you can enjoy giving through your fund.   

• You may add to the fund at any time in any dollar amount. 
• You may make charitable disbursements in the name of the fund or anonymously. 
• For donor-advised funds, you may recommend distributions to charities, locally or throughout the United States.
